Our commitment
Little Legends Football Academy is committed to providing a safe, positive and inclusive environment for every child. We follow The FA’s safeguarding guidance and expect everyone involved with the academy (coaches, volunteers, parents and players) to share this responsibility.
Designated Safeguarding Lead
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is responsible for safeguarding at the academy and is the first point of contact for any concern.
- Name: [Safeguarding lead name]
- Email: hello@littlelegendsfootballacademy.com
- Phone: +44 7456 973003
Coaches & volunteers
- All coaches and volunteers have an enhanced DBS check, renewed regularly.
- All coaches complete recognised safeguarding training and hold first-aid qualifications.
- Coaches are never alone with a child out of sight of others, and do not contact children privately online or by phone.
- We maintain appropriate coach-to-player ratios for each age group.
At sessions
- Children under 8 must have a parent or guardian on site for the whole session.
- Children must be collected by a parent or an adult you have authorised. Please tell us in advance if someone else is collecting.
- Medical information you give us is available to the session lead so they can respond quickly in an emergency.
- Photos and videos are only taken of children whose parents have given consent.
Reporting a concern
If you are worried about a child’s safety or wellbeing, or about the behaviour of anyone connected with the academy:
- If a child is in immediate danger, call 999.
- Otherwise, speak to our Designated Safeguarding Lead as soon as possible, in person or at hello@littlelegendsfootballacademy.com.
- You can also contact The FA Safeguarding Team at safeguarding@thefa.com, or the NSPCC on 0808 800 5000.
All concerns are taken seriously, recorded and handled confidentially.
Code of conduct
We ask all parents and spectators to support positively, respect the coaches’ and referees’ decisions, and never use abusive language or behaviour. Players are expected to listen to coaches, play fairly and treat everyone with respect.
